I purchased this car after it was rebodied using brand new factory Spyder body panels purchased thru Ferrari, all inner fiberglass panels are also NOS factory panels. The coupe body was destroyed in an accident and then a fire at the body shop which destroyed the interior, gauges, all chrome pieces, lenses, wiring etc. I have photos of just a bare tube frame with a new wiring harness as the new floors are starting to be installed. The car was torn down to the last nut and bolt and 'over restored' with cad plated suspension, brand new USA spec gauges, NOS factory bumpers. NOS Ansa exhaust, NOS Spyder top frame etc, etc, etc. It has all the underside nuts and bolts cad plated and installed with the yellow paint marks on them as the factory did. Before the body panels were welded together the restorer flew to Los Angeles and took body measurements off a 200 original mile factory built Spyder as to have the curve of the rear deck and trunk lid correct. The rear clip is all factory new Spyder parts. The engine and gear box are fresh and the motor built with 8500 rpm cams, high compression pistons and the comp. carbs. with velocity stacks and screens. I had the engine pulled when I purchased the car to fix an oil leak and had the engine dynode on a super flow dino. We detuned to run at 6500 rpm. This is a 400 plus hp engine. We have displayed the car at Concorso Italiano 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and the FCA club meets at the Quail Lodge. It always shows well as it is a number 1 car. We were called to the podium at Concorso to represent the Daytona Spyders and Keith Martin never knew it was not a factory built Spyder! It’s that nice!
