1st owner Dudley Mason-Styrron. Owner of 15681, the JCB LeMans Group 4 car 14397 was finished in Rosso Chiaro with Pella Nera trim with red inserts. Collected from the factory 10 September, 1971. 47th RHD and 547th Daytona built. Registered in UK with plate DMS2. Car was traded to Maranello Concessionaires, with 2000 miles, for a new Spider delivered in May 1972. 2nd owner Castle Motors, Sandhurst UK, May 1972. Believed to be used by business owner, I am still researching this piece. 3rd owner Peter Thorp 1977, owner of Safir Engineering, Ford GT40 specialists and formula race car constructors. Converted to Spider in 1978 by CP AutoKraft (Kevin O'Rourke, Brian Angliss and Emilia Garcia). Factory Spider 14463 used as template (this car now in USA). 14397 was completely stripped, A-Posts, windscreen surround, floor and sills strengthened, rear floor and bulkhead fabricated in steel. Tops of rear wings (fenders) rounded rather than square at Peter Thorp's request. Car painted Metallic Green. Bare metal respray in Chiaro Blue and complete retrim in Nero in 2004. 6th owner Ian Buddery, shipped to Australia February 2006.
