Mr. Schanbacher took delivery of the car in Italy and travelled there on vacation before airmailing it back, with him sitting above it, to Los Angeles. He sold Mr B. the car in 1974 when he bought a new Boxer. Mr B. has owned the car since. It is driven regularly in car rallys put on by the Petersen Museum.
