Additional Comments: First Owner: Dr. Robert Taylor, CA 1972, Second Owner: Fritz Jewett, CA 1983, Mileage 30,000 There's a fine story behind the color selection. At the time the original owner, Dr. Taylor, was planning to order his Daytona, Gianni Agnelli and his wife were skiing in the States. She had a fall, injuring her jaw. They were recommended to Dr. Taylor, who was a famed oral surgeon. He and the Agnelli's developed a friendship; it was Agnelli who suggested this non-factory electric metallic blue - a one-off color to be copied by Maranello - as well as the (rare) combination of red upholstery. After picking the car up at Maranello, the Taylor's did an Italy drive, and returned home to Marin County. Shortly after, a set of fitted-to-the-trunk leather luggage, three pieces in black leather with green moire lining, came as a gift from the Agnelli's. Of course, we have these. Further, Dr. Taylor had a scale model (about 1/10) of his car made by Michel Conti, a large, heavy (about 5 lbs) piece, which we also own. Finally, Dr. Taylor wisely purchased a large selection of spares at Maranello, including a number of extra front and rear parking/turn and brake lenses, complete brake master/ vac, etc. The car has continued to live in Marin from the day it returned from the factory, was sold through Harrah's Modern Classic Motors, and serviced continually by Steve Griswold's Berkeley operation. Happy to report that it's cosmetics and mechanical condition are as good as we can remember over our 28 years of ownership. It's been hammered over many a mile, but always handled with great respect - and awe!
